I am currently a Year Twelve student at German Swiss International School (GSIS). Due to the lack of connections between international schools and local schools in Hong Kong, I had not been able to effectively expand my social network beyond GSIS until I became a member of HKOSA. However, to me, the Association is not merely a means of making more friends. The Association is, in fact, one big family that allows members from numerous generations to converge and learn from each other. Being a relatively junior member of the Association, I find the knowledge and advice from more senior members simply invaluable.
Besides providing opportunities to learn from other brilliant minds, the Association is also a place where lifelong friendships are forged. I still recall the frantic moments when I worked with other members of the Association to organise Interflow Camp 2010, or the cheerful conversations that we had in gatherings. It is precisely these memories that craft such strong bonds within the Association, bonds that are unique and will never be broken easily.
The Hong Kong Outstanding Students’ Association is so prestigious that it is my greatest honour to serve as the Vice President of the Twenty Fifth Executive Committee. I would like to thank all Honorary Advisors and Advisors for their unwavering support to the whole Executive Committee. Without their help and advice, the Association would not be as successful as it is. As Vice President, I aim to aid the rest of the Executive Committee in all its work, in order to push forth the Association into a new era that will be more prosperous and laudable than ever!
